UNDERSTANDING OUR BUSINESS

At American Road Conservation, we are passionate about being a part in helping maintain high standards for our communities for water quality as well as aesthetic appeal. We specialize in street sweeping, debris removal, and special event sweeping for municipalities across the state. The population of North Carolina is growing rapidly; therefore, road maintenance is becoming a major effort in maintaining and furthering communities' quality of living. Conserving our roads seems simple to many, however as populations increase so do many crucial factors that increase risks to our citizens. For instance, many water treatment plants are growing highly concerned with rising contamination levels in our water systems. This contamination is caused by the collection of hazardous materials in storm drains from unkempt streets and parking lots. Professional sweeping of these streets and parking lots on a regular basis will aide in the prevention of runoff contamination. This is a huge step in providing not only a cleaner living arena from the looks of things, but in turn, the air, and the water systems are cleaner. Ultimately, we are an essential step in providing a cleaner environment for your community.

Pollutant wash off from streets and parking lots is the single greatest source of urban storm water pollution. This wash off pollution is caused by unattended streets which can accumulate substantial amounts of dirt and debris such as: fuel, lubricants and hydraulic fluids leaked from cars. Vehicle components, such as, broken glass, metals, fiberglass, plastics, and tire debris are often found in our public water systems from parking lot and street neglect. Recent studies show that the primary pollutants in urban storm water include: sediments, heavy metals (copper, lead, etc.), bacteria and viruses, various litter and trash, and commonly used chemicals and pesticides.

A yearlong study done in Seattle, WA found that sweeping once every two weeks removed 2,200 to 3,100lbs of dry material per acre per year. The estimated cost of this program was $1.37 per pound of material removed which is approximately 20% of the estimated cost for regional storm water treatment. By satisfying MEP requirements, and through customer satisfaction and a loyal clientele base, we’ve found our methods proven to be extremely effective, efficient, and cost effective for the community, while at the same time bettering the environment.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

About The Owner

President of the company, Rick Quinones, has been in business for himself for over 30 years. He started his successful career in the LA County Area. California is one of the strictest and most regulated Air and Water Quality Control states in the nation. He not only owned and operate a large-scale street sweeping business, but also served as a consultant for many reputable street sweeping companies in the state of California.  His extensive knowledge of the street sweeping business allowed him to help businesses implement improved ways of establishing more efficient truck routes due to rising gas prices, projecting company needs based on the changing communities, and ways for major municipalities to keep crowded streets cleaner, and well maintained.

Quinones has since moved here to North Carolina with a vision of providing this same level of quality and service. American Road Conservation has been in business for ten years. We have grown to be the lead sweeping company in the area, specializing in Waste Water Quality Control for major municipalities and pavement maintenance. We have been sweeping for over a dozen municipalities. Our goal is to provide better service the community by building a relationship with our clients to find out their specific needs and find solutions to fit each individual town.

We believe having proper equipment and knowledgeable experienced staff is the basis for a foundation to build a successful business. Our Clients are important to our business and we seek to stand behind every job to obtain one hundred percent customer satisfaction.
